How rude of me! I haven’t even mentioned that we’ve managed to get our venue situation all straightened out. The fine folks at AOL have gone ahead and offered up the use of their Beverly Hills campus for our use.
We’re sad to not be at Little Radio this time around, but they’re undergoing pretty major renovations right now. This means we had to find a new home for the event and AOL seriously came thru for us in the clutch. Because of this, we totally <3 them for stepping up.
From what I’ve seen — and heard from previous events that have been held there — the AOL campus is a super nice venue. They have free underground parking…
Some of y’all made it out to Startup Weekend in Los Angeles a little over a month back and apparently had a pretty fun time creating the Facebook game Frenemies. Well, our friends down in San Diego are trying to drum up support to get a Startup Weekend going down in their neck of the woods and have called for our help. While plenty of photos have already come out of this past weekend, it would appear that the first bit of video has bubbled its way to the surface thanks to Bonny and Lan from Noodle Scar. Do give it a look, won’t you?
As this latest BarCamp looms closer, I’ve realized that we really haven’t talked about one of the more important parts of BarCamp. The camping. I mean hell, the word Camp is in the name of the event. So it’s kind of a big deal…
Now, I know Los Angeles isn’t much of a camping city. Well, maybe it is — but even with a lot of great options around, I can’t remember the last time I heard any of my friends say “we’re going camping this weekend.” Maybe that’s because I don’t have very many outdoorsy friends tho. *shrug* Who’s to say, really?
Still, I know at the end of a day of networking, going to presentations and soaking up…
