Reminder - Events Next Week

Just a friendly reminder about two great events coming up next week.

LA Geek Dinner: Blind Date w/ Dorkbot is happening on Tuesday at Machine Project. RSVPs are closed for this event, so if you have RSVP’d, be sure to attend (or let us know you’re not coming, so someone else can!).
Twiistup 3 is happening on Wednesday at the Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice. Tickets are Sold Out for this event, but you can still put your name on the waiting list or donate to Kiva.org (which you should just do anyhow) for a chance to win tickets. Check here for more info

DevHouseLA Exists

Hi folks, just an update on the monthly Developer gathering we’re trying to get moving in Los Angeles.
We now have a name - DevHouseLA, a domain name and a wiki (www.devhousela.org), and a google group at http://groups.google.com/group/devhousela.
We have lots to do to get this off the ground, so if you’re interested, now’s the time to jump in.

It’s been suggested that it’s high time we took this awesome budding tech community we have here and actually *do* something with it. We think that sounds like a good idea all around.
Now, if you aren’t familiar with SuperHappyDevHouse, you might want to start reading there for what this is all about. This is not a BarCamp, this is not a conference at all; this is a monthly opportunity for people to get together, learn from each other, and get stuff done.

So it’s BarCamp Eve and I just wanted to share a few things with all of you so that everyone can get the most out of what’s looking to be one really fun event. Please forward to anyone you think is coming who isn’t on this list.
